"Full Speed" Message on AI Development

Son endorsed the view that AI development should proceed at maximum pace rather than slowing down in response to risks, according to remarks circulating in connection with his recent public statements. His position, captured in the phrase "move at full speed and find solutions along the way," frames rapid AI advancement as the appropriate course even amid unresolved challenges.

The statement aligns Son with the camp of prominent tech executives who argue that braking AI progress would forfeit its benefits, and that safety and other issues should be addressed while development continues rather than beforehand.

Context and Reception

The remarks drew attention given SoftBank's broad exposure to AI through its investment portfolio and strategic bets on the technology. Son has long positioned AI as a defining investment theme for the group.

The comments do not reference any specific regulatory measure, timetable, or project, and no further details on how the "solutions" would be pursued were included in the remarks as circulated.

The claim that Masayoshi Son voiced support for a rapid AI push, saying solutions must be found while moving at full speed, is True.
