SK hynix's labor union has approved a renegotiated collective agreement with management, securing an increase in the cash portion of the performance bonus from 40 percent to 50 percent, wrapping up a pay round watched closely across Korea's semiconductor industry.
The revised labor-management agreement went back to the union membership after the two sides returned to the bargaining table, and the reworked package was passed. The central change lifts the cash bonus from 40 percent to 50 percent, making the direct payout a substantially larger share of total compensation at the memory chipmaker.
Wage settlements at SK hynix are treated as a barometer of conditions in the domestic semiconductor industry, where skilled workers are in sustained demand and rival employers compete heavily for talent. A renegotiated deal that raises the cash bonus to 50 percent is likely to become a reference point in upcoming pay negotiations elsewhere in the industry, as unions press for a larger share of gains delivered in cash rather than in-kind benefits.
The confirmed ratification of the renegotiated labor-management agreement, along with the increase in the cash performance bonus from 40 percent to 50 percent, makes the claim True.
