In head-to-head rasterized gaming under identical settings, with ray tracing, upscaling and frame generation switched off, the RTX 4090 came out roughly 13 to 14 percent ahead of the RTX 5080, and all four test runs pointed in the same direction. Shared without its condition, the "5080 is faster" claim invites readers to assume a generational leap in raw performance that the measurements do not support.
