South Korean telecom operator KT has introduced eight types of AI subscription products built around Google's AI services, expanding its AI offering for consumer and business customers. The lineup bundles Google's AI tools into KT's subscription packages, marking a deepening of the partnership between the Korean carrier and the US tech giant.
The eight subscription products announced by KT are based on Google AI services and are offered across multiple tiers, allowing customers to choose plans that fit different usage needs. KT has positioned the launch as part of its broader strategy to grow its AI business and deliver AI services directly to its subscriber base.
KT, one of Korea's major telecommunications providers, has in recent years pushed to transform itself into an AI-focused company, and the addition of Google-powered subscription products gives it a ready-made portfolio of consumer-facing AI offerings. The products combine KT's telecom customer base with Google's AI technology, including its generative AI services.
The launch comes as Korean telecom operators increasingly compete to distribute global AI services to domestic users, packaging premium AI tools into mobile and broadband plans. Partnerships with global AI providers have become a key avenue for carriers seeking new revenue beyond traditional connectivity services.
Details such as pricing and exact launch dates for individual tiers were not specified in the announcement materials, and further specifics remain to be confirmed by the company.
The claim that KT has unveiled eight Google AI subscription products is true.
