What the survey shows

The State of Devs 2026 survey, run under the Devographics project, published its results with an explicit headline theme: developers are exhausted. The survey's promotional image and author profile materials accompanying the release carry the same message, presenting developer burnout as the survey's central takeaway.

The underlying raw data was made publicly available through GitHub, allowing the published figures to be examined independently against the source material.

Access limitations and source basis

The survey's official download page was not directly accessible at the time of review, so the figures cited in the results were instead checked against the identical numbers in the public raw dataset hosted on GitHub. Eleven primary sources were reviewed in the course of examining the claim.

Bottom line

The claim that the State of Devs 2026 survey results show developers are exhausted is consistent with the survey's published materials and its underlying public data, though the original download page's inaccessibility means the finding rests on the GitHub-hosted dataset rather than the official download channel. On balance, the characterization of the survey results is Mostly True.
