The latest Steam Hardware Survey data shows a shift in graphics card memory distribution, with the 32 GB VRAM tier gaining 4.77 points to reach 42.22%, while the 16 GB tier fell 3.38 points to 37.82%.
According to the monthly figures published by Valve's Steam platform, the 32 GB segment now stands at 42.22%, up 4.77 points from the previous reading. The 16 GB tier moved in the opposite direction, declining 3.38 points to 37.82%.
The data, drawn from Steam's hardware statistics, indicates that high-VRAM configurations have become the larger share among the two tiers, a reversal of their relative positions.
VRAM capacity in the Steam Hardware Survey is widely watched as an indicator of the graphics card configurations used by PC gamers. The movement of 4.77 points in a single reading represents a notable change in the distribution, though the survey reflects only the Steam user base and not the broader PC market.
The survey is based on voluntary participation and its methodology has historically drawn discussion over how representative it is of the wider gaming population.
The claim that the 32 GB tier gained 4.77 points to reach 42.22% while 16 GB fell 3.38 points to 37.82% is consistent with the published survey figures, making the verdict: True.
